DESCRIPTION:Join us for the book launch of Kuzhali Manickavel's debut novel A Compendium of Supernatural Entities Found in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School\, which draws from her high school years in small-town Tamil Nadu.\nHer unique writing style includes elements of surrealism\, horror\, and unhinged humour\; but much of her short fiction is also very grounded in a sense of place. In this talk\, celebrated children's author Shalini Srinivasan will dialogue with Kuzhali about childhood visions\, coming-of-age stories\, and the monsters that haunt our dreams.\nThis will be followed by an interactive Q&amp\;A with the audience.\nAbout the book:\nIn the oppressive heat of a small Tamil Nadu town\, bizarre happenings are common. And the local government secondary school is teeming with supernatural entities.\nFor Thamarai\, an outsider considered strange by her peers\, life is dreary and frustrating.
